Consignment Guidelines & Accepted Items

We accept certain items seasonally, while other outdoor gear is accepted year-round. We welcome a wide range of equipment and apparel for outdoor gear consignment, but please review the consignment guidelines and current accepted categories listed below before bringing items to the shop.

We prioritize well-known outdoor brands that are in high demand, including Patagonia, Cotopaxi, The North Face, Arc’teryx, Mountain Hardwear, Marmot, Mammut, Helly Hansen, Osprey, Rab, Icebreaker, and Black Diamond, among others.

All items must be gently used, clean, and in good or better condition to be considered for consignment.

Items must meet the following requirements:

• Fully functional with minimal wear
• No damage or missing parts
• No rips, tears, stains, odors, pilling, or fading
• Tags and labels must be visible
• No alterations or company logos on apparel
• No potentially hazardous items

Items that do not meet these standards cannot be accepted for consignment.

Items Accepted All Year

We accept the following outdoor gear and apparel throughout the year. All items must meet our consignment quality standards and be clean, functional, and in good condition.

Accepted Categories:

• Outdoor Apparel (All Seasons) – Jackets, base layers, mid-layers, and insulated pieces
• Technical Clothing – Performance shirts, shorts, and pants designed for outdoor use
• Backpacking Gear – Internal frame packs, day packs, coolers, and trekking poles
• Fly Fishing Equipment – Fly rods, reels, packs, and accessories
• Hunting Apparel – Technical clothing and outerwear designed for hunting
• Optics & Tools – Binoculars, pocket knives, and multi-tools
• Vintage Outdoor Gear & Unique Items – Classic or collectible outdoor equipment

If you have quality outdoor gear in these categories, we’re always happy to take a look for consignment in the shop.

Items NOT Accepted

To keep our inventory focused on quality outdoor gear, we do not accept the following items for consignment:

Apparel & Footwear

• Casual or fashion brand clothing (Abercrombie, American Eagle, J.Crew, Old Navy, etc.)
• Youth casual clothing and shoes
• Adult casual shoes (sneakers, tennis shoes, dress shoes)
• Yoga, running, or riding apparel
• Road cycling or mountain biking jerseys, short and bibs (jackets and rain wear in excellent condition are ok)
• Trail or road running shoes (hiking or approach shoes in excellent condition may be accepted)
• Bathing suits, board shorts, socks, underwear, or intimate apparel
• Cotton t-shirts or cotton long sleeve shirts
• Most cotton pants and shorts (unless technical, name-brand items in excellent condition)

Safety-Sensitive or Restricted Items

• Used ski, snowboard, or bicycle helmets (new with tags or in box may be accepted)
• Climbing ropes, harnesses, or avalanche safety gear
• Guns, ammunition, or bow hunting equipment

Other Equipment We Do Not Accept

• Water sports clothing and accessories
• Paddle sport equipment (tennis, squash, racquet sports, pickleball)
• Baseball or softball equipment
• Roof racks and rack accessories
• Exercise equipment
• Used water bottles, hydration bladders, or water filters
• Books or maps
• Electronics (GPS units, GoPros, Bluetooth speakers, weather radios, etc.)

If you’re unsure whether an item is eligible for consignment, feel free to contact the shop before bringing it in.

The following items are accepted seasonally and must be clean, functional, and in good condition to be considered for consignment.

Spring / Summer Season – Beginning April 1

Camping Gear

• Tents
• Sleeping bags and sleeping pads
• Camp stoves and cook sets
• Camp chairs
• Camping accessories
• Modern headlamps and lanterns

Hiking Apparel

• Technical jackets
• Hiking pants
• Hiking shorts

Outdoor Footwear

• Hiking shoes and boots
• Approach shoes

Watercraft & Paddle Gear

• Canoes
• Paddle boards
• Fishing kayaks and rafts
• Paddles and PFDs (personal flotation devices)

Cycling

• Modern mountain bikes, gravel bikes, and road bikes (management approval required — please call before bringing any bike to the shop)
• Cycling jackets only (no cycling jerseys, shorts, or bibs)

Field & Team Sports

• Lacrosse sticks and pads (no helmets)
• Soccer cleats and shin guards

Fall / Winter Season – Beginning October 1

We accept the following winter gear and apparel seasonally. All items must be clean, fully functional, and in good condition to be considered for consignment.

Ski & Snowboard Equipment

• Alpine (downhill) skis and boots
• Alpine Touring & Backcountry skis and boots
• Snowboards, snowboard boots, and bindings
• Nordic (cross-country) skis, boots and poles

Snow Travel & Packs

• Snowshoes
• Ski and snowboard packs

Winter Apparel

• Insulated and shell jackets
• Ski and snow pants
• Mid-layers
• Gloves, hats, and other winter accessories

Hockey & Skating

• Hockey gear and protective equipment (helmets evaluated case-by-case)
• Recreational and figure ice skates
